PRESENTATION

The cardiology laboratory was founded in 2006. Scientific research focuses on studying metabolic syndrome risk factors, associated with an increased rate of cardiovascular disease and its complications (sudden death, fatal or nonfatal myocardial infarction and stroke).

During these years, the Cardiology Laboratory has carried out two international projects: Lipid and carbohydrate metabolism in insulin-resistant patients under the Collaboration Program between the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM) and the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (2007) and Pathophysiological mechanisms of insulin resistance and coronary flow disorders in patients with metabolic syndrome within the Joint Research Program between the ASM and the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research  (2009).

The Institutional Project Development of a concept of primary and secondary prophylaxis in metabolic syndrome based on the evaluation of etiopathogenetic mechanisms, the clinical picture and the action of sympatholytic remedies (2014) is currently underway.
